Hi All,

Does anyone know if the codes for an A3(1.8T) are the same for a VW Passat(V6)?

I had the windows up & down function switched on for my A3, but I can't find a post with info regarding a Passat - their owners don't seem to be enthusiasts

Can anyone please help?

I am looking for the following codes for the 99/00 model Passat with the 2.8L v6 (pre-emissions detuning)
-> Remote Control Window up & down on hold of button (lock/unlock)
-> Auto lock at 30kmh and auto unlock when key taken out of ignition
-> 2 stage unlocking (drivers door only on first press, all doors on second press)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken.

Thanks Ram,

I thought there may have been different codes for the different engines.

Would you also know the code for enabling window up/down from the remote control? ie. Hold down open button and it will wind down windows, and likewise holding down close will lock car plus wind up windows.

Ken

Hi Ken,

Apologies for the delay - I've been busy!

Add 64 to the code to enable opening and closing of windows via the keyfob.

Be warned, enabling this allows a thief to open the windows by breaking the outside lock and using a substitute key (screwdriver?).

See the BBC's watchdog website for details...

Thanks Ram - I found the bbc watchdog website and article... That's scary stuff and piss poor service from VW.

Do you know what models and years of cars (or should I fear the worst and assume all cars before 2002?)

Regards,

Ken

I'm not sure exactly when they introduced this, but I do know that earliest cars I've seen were manufactured in 1997 on an "R" plate.

Best wishes,

Ram
