Hey all,

I'm just wondering if anyone has cleared Airbag lights on VW/Audi/Seat etc. with VAG-COM?

A colleague of mine has a Seat Cordoba bearing a 1998 R plate, and I'm just wondering if anyone knows a) if this vehicle has an OBD port like my A3, and if so, where it might be - and also b) how likely this vehicle is to have an Airbag Controller which will have a panic if I scan it? (I'm presuming I'll be OK because Ross-Tech say it's MY2000/2001 vehicles that are at risk?)

Is it just a case of clearing any fault codes on the module to kill the Airbag light?

Thanks in advance for any information you can offer

Regards,

Rob.

the best thing to do is find the airbag control module on the car and check the number on it see if it is the same as the one listed on the ross-tech site ( vag cars share parts )if it's the same number DON'T SCAN IT, if the number is not the some then you can scan it and see what codes come up clear them give it a test drive and see if the light comes back on

Hi Pete,
Cheers for your input

I've just come back from lunch, and I lumped the laptop & interface into work with me today - it seems that although the diagnostics port on his Cordoba is pin-compatible, it doesn't want to talk to VAG-COM (also noticed that Cordobas aren't listed in the Chasis-list for Auto-Scan, so I figured that pretty much confirmed it)... Looks like he'll be heading for a VW dealer to sort it out - was worth a try though!

Rob.
