Hey all,
I'm just fiddling around with cables and things for an idea I'm playing with for a VAG-COM serial interface, and I'm just wondering if anyone knows where I might get a pin-out diagram for the OBD connector in my 98 A3.
I've found conflicting information up to now, and it's something I don't want to make a mess of. Confirmation of which side of the connector the diagram's for would also be good - a good few I've seen up to now are ambiguous here.
Any help is appreciated,
Regards,
Rob.

I've just been out and had another nosey at the OBD port in the car, and (with the help of a quarter of a million candles), I can see that (looking at the connector) pins 4, 5, 7, and 16 are populated. That would fit with what I'd expect of ISO K-Line.
My question is now more with regard to the importance of the ground pin I use if I am to attempt a serial cable? If I'm building a dual K line cable, could I just use the ground at pin 4 (vehicle ground) without needing pin 5 (signal ground)?
Again, any advice will be gratefully received
Regards,
Rob.
