ECU Explorer+Vag-Com cable

Ive been trying to find out if the explorer cable works with Vag can anyone help? I think the Exp usb cable has 5 pins how many has Vag usb got? I know that the Vag serial cable works with Exp but dont know if it works the other way. If someone has the time could they please please post a photo of the usb Vag plug it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have a definitive answer on this but, you can download a "trial" copy of VAG-COM from www.ross-tech.com (http://www.ross-tech.com) and that does have a test routine built in to confirm that you are "seeing" the ECU correctly.
