I have 1.9 tdi (110 BHP) 1999 model 105 k on the clock.

It keeps going into limp mode normally in 3rd gear 3100 revs (loss of power as if some one has pinched your turbo. If you switch the engine off and restart the problem will go okay).

I took it to a mechanic and the diagnostic machine had 1 fault recorded. This was "inlet manifold regulating different pressure" (even the mechanic does not know what this can be).

I am thinking of taking it to dealers soon but someone should know what this means.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there

Not manged to check the veins on the turbo yet. Car has been running fine all day. It did this last time, car was ok for about 1.5 week then it started going back in limp mode.

I was wondering if these are the signs for a sticking turbo.

the description from the diagnostics would suggest to me it is the turbo, mine did the same. an exchange turbo would cost about £600 from Audi. I Managed to find one on Ebay for £150. No probs now.

<reading with great interest your posts regarding loss of power. Everyone assumes MAF sensor or Turbo. Good suggestions, but don't always assume these are the only faults on these engines. Ensure by checking your engine code that you have a variable vein turbo, as not all have these fitted. Please check my other posts- i'm no expert and don't profess to be, however, recent experience has taught me that there are a number of faults that can give simillar faults. It can be anything from leaking pipes, either in the ar intake/turbo system, to faulty pressure converter, boost pressure sensor, EGR solenoid valve, clogged intake manifold, MAF meter/sensor, Intake manifold pressure/ temp sensor, or the ECU itself (particularly ones starting with part number 0281) . Did you get a faultcode 17965 or P1557?

Dont know what the fault code was, i think my mechanic had theb old machine.

Its bizzare, i have been driving it for 3 days now and the fault has not come up. I will see what happens in the next couple of days.
