Hi all,

After parking my car up I jumped out to hear a hissing noise, thinking I had a radiator failure, i popped the bonnet to find gas leaking from a switch on an air con pipe on the offside front of the engine bay, behind headlight. I think it's the high pressure switch. It looks like the bladder separating the gas from the switch has failed resulting in the connector popping off and losing all it's charge. I'm currently offshore so cannot supply a pic, but it looks like a 5/8" pipe with a stabbing on and a switch/connector attached. Looks like a bit of a pain to replace :(

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. I know a good independant VAG specialist, and also someone who can vac & charge the system for free.

Ok, anyone with ELSA want to have a quick look for me?

i had the same issue on a 07 A3 8P. the high pressure switch failed and the gas and oil leaked out. Easy replace. just take out the fans, four screws. the intake box for more room and the bottom engine cover to access the bottom fan screws and to use a 17 spanner on the switch. unscrew the switch (1K0959126D) replace the O ring also. gas up and its done. There was a fault with the original switch and you can see where they made changes to the new one.
