I'm going to try and get a new to me compressor in the coming weeks.
The orignal unit was removed just as i bought the car and i've running with no compressor for months.

I can bolt the new unit on and connect all pipes but I'm just wondering if there could be any other issues with the AC system for not having a compressor on for 8 months.

The pipes have been covered up all this time (Well, I think they are still covered).

any advice would be great.
thanks. :D

The seals have more likely dried out completely and that means they may not work 100%. It's worth taking it to a specialist who can carry out a pressure test to check they're okay before filling the system up properly. The other option is to get it charged as normal and hope for the best.

New drier unit fit the comp, vac down for a few hours, leak test and top up with oil and gas.

Mines going in for a new compressor on Monday, aircon packed up 4 years ago......lol, they are talking £500 for the compressor !!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont you just love ****** aAudi's :faint:

I've ordered a new drier unit and compressor hopefully in time for this weekend.

Is there any thing else that is recommend to replace?

If you look on autoairconparts.com, its a uk site, the cheap compressors on ebay are 28 day delivery. this co sells OE parts at half dealer price, also a copy part... You need to fit a new drier, also a new expansion valve as per their warrent terms. take a look.

I hope this helps, Pm me if the site listed is wrong fella

Thank you both. :)

Expansion valve?

I ordered a dryer, AC compressor, new bolts, new pully, new o-rings and got a AC guy coming over on the weekend to regas/test the system.
If there is any thing else missing i'll try and get it before or pray the system works. :)

All done.

New dryer, 2nd hand compressor, belt, pully and regass. all for less than £100.
Happy days.

Thanks very much for all the helps lads.

As you say, Happy days fella.
I fitted my new comp last week, waited until today to have it re gas'd... a blooming £1 seal was passes gas! So still no Aircon! And to top my day off, my passenger window jammed in the half open position, So I found a local breaker, I fitted a whole window frame inc regulator cables motor etc!
