A8 D3 2003 Parking Sensor Problem - Help

Hey all, hope someone could help me...I am having issues with my parking sensors, I have the parking sensor plus upgrade with graphic - issue is when i engage the sensors, the screen pops up with heavy static like on a badly tuned tv. I have the VAGCOM and it states that there is an issue with Middle Right Front Sensor - i have inspected it, replaced the sensor at a rediculous cost from the stealer and checked all contact points. But the problem still persists...

Anyone able to decifer what it could be....I am considering purchasing a new harness as there could be a hairline split somewhere however the issue is only that one sensor (despite replacing it). Is there a way of coding the module to eliminate that sensor from radar checks? thats the easy way out but i would rather fix the problem....

I presume this is an upgraded system as the 2003 cars didn't have graphical parking, but you have a rev D controller from a 2009 car.

Do you have a rear view camera? if not why is it coded for rear view camera?

Thanks Craig, yes I have upgraded to the Rev D controller. Everything was working fine for months after installing the Rev D controller so i cant think if its that... I have ordered a new wiring loom for the sensors today, £100 again...hoping its a line break in the loom thats causing the issue. I hope this resolves the issue but if it doesn't i'd want to try and code the controller to eliminate the checks on that particular sensor...i giess its not that straight forward in reality...I was investigating the possibillity of fitting the S6 DRLs but after looking at the space and the size, realised it was not going to happen without major mods...I must have trapped a wire when putting the bumper back on...well i assume so...

Yes, but 0221008 is coding for APS with camera, have you fitted the camera as it would switch to a blank screen if no camera present.

I would think 0201008 is the right coding for APS without camera.

Sorry forgot to say, no - no rear view camera....YET! I will book it in with you for that !

When i fitted it, the coding was already set so the graphic just came up automatically.

I will change the coding to what you suggest and give that a try...that should eliminate the issue of screen static then...just the sensor wire/sensor to worry about next...

Thanks Craig I have changed the coding and thats eliminated the fuzz. I am just fitting the new loom now so lets see if that resolves the sensor malfunction...

My car is an Audi A8 3.0 TDI Quattro 2008 facelift model.
I have the camera as well which works well with the guidelines however the sensors and the sensor graphic do not respond at all.

Check your parking control module. Unplug it and check for corrosion and give the contact a clean with ipa.
