Had this error on my A8 D3:

01218 - Side Airbag Igniter; Passenger Side (N200)
001 - Upper Limit Exceeded - MIL ON
The fix is to raise the front passenger seat from the front so you can get to the connectors underneath. The smallest connector is the side airbag, simply remove this and spray electrical contact cleaner to both ends, let it dry and reconnect. Clear the errors using VCDS and they should not return. Try to earth yourself if you intend to touch the contacts just in case you trigger the air bag.
