Transmission Wining Sound

Has any one experienced a whining in the trans. while driving? I noticed this when I am driving upgrade or accelerating and driving at normal speeds. I have an appointment with service dept next Friday. I suspect trans. oil flush and filter. Thoughts anyone?

thats cheaper than any o f the next options.try an independent transmission specialist.they have the gear and are cheaper than audi.did mine this year for 148 pounds cash.it worked well.going to have it done again next year as a service item.with so much horsepower and a reputation for eating auto boxes i think its a wise precaution.

Very very common on them mate. As you said, it's the oil and filter which needs replacing. Audi have released a modified housing for the box too which will need replacing too. Look to pay around £350.

Dealer determined that the valve body needed to be replaced, under Audi Assured Warranty. Had it done, but problem still there. Taking it back Monday. I'll let you know what they find.
