hi i am a new member and have a question about the horse power. the a8 has 310 and the s8 has 340. coukd anyone tell me what physical differences the two engines have? 30 hp is 10 percent and that suggests perhaps just a management difference.can you de-restrict your a8 and how fast should it go?thanks for taking the time to read this.jb.

Actually, and depending on the year you are referring to, the A8 has 340 HP and the S8 has 360 HP. They both have the same 4.2 ltr. engines, but the compression ratio is higher with the S8 hence the added horespower & torque.

also one was 5 valve the other 4 valve, heads and exhaust probably ported bigger too
