Have any of you guys tried the new A8 4.2 ?
Mine is back in the shop (hopefully for the last time !) and I've blagged the dealer's 4.2 demonstrator for a few days.
My first conlusion is f*** me, this is one helluva car !
It feels quicker than my S8 (which is a bit depressing, but then again, mine is back in the shop to have the engine fixed !). This new one has more gagdets than you can shake a stick at, but the daddy of them all is the radar cruise control - I've just spent the day in Gloucester, and on the way back I travelled the entire length of the M4 from junction 15 to junction 6 without touching the accelerator OR brakes from one slip road to the other !
There's plenty of other good things about it (like the fingerprint recognition and lights that see around corners) and I'm off to have a play on the windy roads home tonight, so I'll post some more experiences tomorrow (I'm also having lunch with one of my consultants who has a "breathed on" Evo 7, so maybe we'll see how quick his car really is !!).
Cheers
Richard
