Hi Everyone, I'm looking to buy a 2010/2011 3.0tdi Quattro tiptronic, with the aim of keeping it for a few years, doing probably 25k a year. I just wondered what sort of mileages you've all done with these cars before you've started having problems, although I've read that they're fairly bomb proof... Do I buy a biggish miler or spend a bit more and start off with a lower mileage car? Any comments or advice would be very welcome! Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this, and hopefully post something...
Cheers,
Blackwood

I'm at just over 180K only issue is a couple of the injectors starting to fail, this is a known issue on early models. As you looking around 2010 then most of the C6 issues were resolved.

That's great news! Thanks! I realise of course that anything can blow up at any time, bits fall off etc, but good to know what's possible with good care and a bit of luck!

Cheers!

If you want long life out of the engine then ditch long life service, and change the oil every 10K miles or every year what ever comes sooner.

Depends on what mileage you go for, but be warned the second service (37,500 miles , sorry I only work imperial) is costly but it is a major service. Of course if you buy from a dealer you can buy service packs.

That's a great help, thank you! I will be using a specialist independent for servicing, long story but will never use a main dealer, I have always believed in regular oil and filter changes, and thorough servicing using quality parts, am guessing these cars are pretty reliable if looked after properly, assuming 200k isn't an issue?

Cheers!

fsh with receipts to prove work done and you should be fine... one thing I would personally do at that sort of mileage is to change the 'timing chain'.
