VagCom, VCDS ...???

Hey !
What scanning software are people using to trouble shoot problems and fault codes etc....??
Is it as simple as downloading software and buying compatible cable to plug into diagnostic port...??

VCDS all the way, buy genuine VCDS cable from Gendan or another distributor. Your car's worth it.

most of the cheap ebay cables won't work on the A6 due to the can-gateway bus configuration. Best get yourself a genuine cable, they are easy to sell on, and lose very little money.

Agree, even second hand genuine cables are still fetching £200/210 on ebay.

Yeah its that simple. And just learning how to use the software properly. You could also buy your genuine cable from NHN right here on the forum, as hes an authorised distributor and forum trader.
