Help - Non Starter :(

Hey Everyone,

A bit of an unusual problem with my 04 C6 3.0 Tdi Quattro for you Audi Experts...

The problem is that the car won't even crank over !
I put the key in , wait for the glow plug light to go off and turn the key to nothing , won't even turn over or attempt to start...

Anyone ever expierence this before or know anything that could be wrong ??

I've experienced this on mine a few times... usually it is the key at fault... I take it apart and reseat stuff then AOK...

Have you a spare key try it... other than that a VCDS scan may help...

Unfortunately it's a negative, car failed to start....
Suppose the next step is to strip back the plastic undercarriage beneath the car, locate the starter and see if she is getting power.....
I'll be busy the weekend !

Turns out it was a sticky / worn out Starter motor. It was getting 12V with ignition on and it was getting its 12V to fire up when the key was turned to start. Still wouldn't start so I bridged the permanent 12V to crank the starter motor for a second and got a response.
Plugged back in the harness and she Fired up !
Have tried it several times since and the motor has been struggling a bit with jerking and split second pauses whilst turning over, but it has started. So I'm gonna pull it out and get it reconditioned as it could potentially fail anywhere.
I'm happy enough that was the problem.
