Hi guys,

I have just bought a a6 with 152000 miles on the clock. It has brocken down and the rocovery mechanic diagnosed it and said it was the MAF meter.

I got recovery to drop the car at my home as it does not drive.

I have replaced the MAF meter but it is exactly the same.

Any ideas on what i can do now. The mechanic was certain it was the MAF meter at fault.

Thanks.

look on the vcds users map to see who is near you and can scan the car , clear faults.

I got the AA out to my car and he cleared the codes. No faults are showing now but the car is the same.

He spent half an hour at the car but doesnt know what is wrong with it.

The car starts for a second then cuts out.

Any ideas would be great.

Cheers.

That could be an Immobilizer fault.
Does the "key" symbol on the dash flash after it cuts out?

thank you for the reply.

no there is no key symbol on the dash.

the guy from the AA scanned it and couldnt find any faults.

Look in the vagcom section for a member in your area to scan the car with VCDS. The AA would have used a generic reader.
In your previous post you said he cleared the faults, it may have logged them again.
Do you have another key, have tried it?
