This is a quick one: Is there an easy way of checking if a vehicle has been remapped??

Nope, not really different mapping companies use different software to re-flash the eeprom, only a proper mapper with the correct equiptment could check the software on the eeprom

You could have a look at the ecu case if thats been unsealed (opened) its properly been remapped

run some logs with vagcom

3rd gear pull and look at the MAF readings
