Vag-tacho cables - which one?

I have just bought a 2003 A6 2.5 TDI auto and need to clear some codes and re-program a key fob.
Does anyone know which USB cable I need to buy - I can see both

avagcom-usb-vehicle-can-bus-cable-with-software-cd and

vagtacho-usb-vehicle-obd-cable-with-software-cd

available to buy online - one seems to be for newer models, but i wanna be sure I get the right one.
Does anyone have any experience of these cables?

if you head over to the vcds / vagcom section of the forum and speak to Nigel (NHN) he can sort you out with the right cable, latest 1 from rosstech is the Hex-Usb+can which will work with your motor http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/hex-usb+can.html
The REAL cable from rosstech is not cheap but the ebay copies don't have the proper functionality
