Today I bought a 2.4 SE W reg with 45,000 on the clock. It was from a non-audi dealer.
Before I bought it, I had it checked out by the AA who found three faults including an oil leak. The dealer traced the leak to a seal on the gasket and said he had it replaced. An oil topping service was also carried out.
It's a lovely car -- when I got home I checked the oil and to my concern discovered the tank is reading very, very low.
I need to find out quick whether I've got a leak. My questions are:
1/ The dipstick is very bendy and difficult to stick back in -- could a dodgy dipstick give a false low reading?
2/ there are no error messages on the car's computer. Should the A6 be flashing me a low oil warning?
Many thanks for any pointers. I love the car but need to find out whether I bought a problem motor.
