Ignition Playing Up

Help / Advice needed,

Have got an audi a6 avant 1999, about a year ago i had a problem with the ignition code, when i went to start the car the light flashed to say it didn't accept the key. I eventually changed the barrel and reader. It was working fine until we had all the rain the last few days. It has flashed up a couple of times now.

Has anybody had this fault?? any advice would be great.

not sure, maybe check your footwell carpets for wetness as your ecu sits under there......

Yes i thought of that, the carpets seem to be ok. I have taken the cover of for the ecu and that seems all dry under there as well. It always seems to be when it rains / driving on wet roads.

get vag com on it see what faults its kicking out.....

I have already got a copy. All it gives me is a fault saying start blocked by immobiliser. There is no other fault, which doesn't help matters

have u got another keyfob to use, just in case that is the problem?

Yes, i did try it last time. Might have to try it again,
