A6 mirror cover removal

Hi, I want to take of my mirror covers to re-paint them as they have some scuffs.
I have noted the crews underneath and have use some penetrating oil which has allowed me to remove them, the problem is whats next?
Its a 2001 A6 pre facellift.

You also need to remove the mirror, then lif the cover off. It takes a little force but they will come off.
