Help! Drivers Door won't Open!

The Driver's door stopped opening yesterday....from the remote, from outside and from inside, I can't open it at all.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the freezing temperatures we have here now, but the other doors are OK, so maybe not...

Is there any way to get the door to open without destroying the door card?

Hopefully it is the weather & it might get back to working normally as the temperature rises. Unfortunately I had a problem with my drivers door on my last A6 Avant & contemplated making a hole in the leather covered card etc. I took it to the Audi dealer who said that the central locking had lost its programing & re-programmed it - without having to cut into the door. It cost about £50 - some 6 years - so is likely to be more now. I was worried that this would be a regular cost - but the problem never reaccurred.
Someone with a Vag Com / VCDS may be able to do this for you.
