A6 Avant quattro rear discs question

I've a 2003 2.5 TDi Avant quattro and the rear discs are due for replacement, so looking at after market Brembo site I see there were 245mm and 255mm diameter discs for this model - this explains the rust on the outside edge of current discs, which are 255mm but should be 245mm.

Anyone know which models the 255mm were fitted to and if its only the caliper carrier which needs changing to use 255mm discs - I know its only 10mm but if its dead easy why not?
