Anyone upgraded a steering wheel on a C5 A6?

I've just bought a 3 spoke steering wheel from a 1997 A4 S-Line and taken mine off to find it won't fit :-(

I thought the spline fitting would be the same due to both the A4 and A6 of that era having the same 4 spoke wheel, therefore the 3 spoke would fit either.

Obviously i'm wrong!

Anyway now back on the hunt for a nice 3 spoke wheel to replace my 4 spoke one anyone got any info on which wheels will fit from other models?

Mines a 1998 A6 C5.

I think you got the one prior to 98 wich has the small spline hub. Look for a4/a66 '98 on with the slimmer airbag. These will fit.

Ahh thanks for that, I do know they did a facelift on the A4, I think i'll double check next time anyway and get them to measure the dia of the spline fitting.
