    A6 Avant bee sting aerial

    Afternoon folks...

Quick question - how do you remove the bee sting aerial from the A6 avant (say, for example, you want to use a car wash...)?

I don't want to break it and there's nothing in the manual to explain how it's removed.

    Thanks in advance!

Hmm.. i did assume that, but when I tried to unscrew it, it didn't budge. Just wanted to make sure I didn't break it!

    It's just a "common problem"

Some of these aerials rust on pretty good... cheap enough to replace if they are that bad.

It's a screw with the rubber of the aerial moulded over the top of it. Mole grips with insulation tape wrapped round the jaws is a goodun (so it won't mark it) and put some vaseline on the screw before putting it back so it won't seize so readily next time...

If it's really stuck cut the rubber away to expose the fitting and use a spanner then buy a new one...

    Well...

As it happens, I managed to unscrew it - or so I thought...

Actually, what I managed to do was shear the rubber aerial away from the screw.

I've managed to repair it now, thankfully...

    I'll know for next time!
