Oil breather pipes (replacing)

Hello everyone
I have a 2001 Audi A6 Avant 4.2 Quattro. done about 114,000 miles,
I want to replace all of the oil breather pipes, as I imagine there pretty crudded up and slowly degrading if they are the originals.

I have spoken to my local Audi Stealer and apparently there are six pipes on my engine, , which one would you replace first? due to their importance, the total cost of all the pipes is about £135
So I want to spread the cost a little and do one pipe at a time,

Secondly can I do it myself on my drive, (quite handy with my tools!) or will the car have to be lifted to get access somewhere.

Basically these pipes are made of egg shells and really brittle with age.

Replace them all.

Some one on here got some silicon tubes made up basically

17mm internal diameter and 21 outer diameter and has to be oil resistant.

This is not over the counter stuff and will cost a fortune as you need about 1.5 mtrs in total and youll have to buy 10mtrs as a minimum from any manufacturer.

There was a company i saw at some shows which made good quality stuff in various colours an almost any size and type, ie bends ect, just tell em the sizes and bends, unfortunatly i never got a car or anything, but worth a search on the net.
