Fuel filter air lock - 2.5tdi - 180

Just done oil and fuel filter thinking a quick job. Now it won't start I have an air lock in the diesel. It's on ramps at the front so I guess this is not helping matters. Any advice on how to best bleed the air out ?? Any time now will be fine thanks !

Did you fill new filter with diesel before fitting?Manual recommends you do so......

Thanks dj, I was a bit impatient but have a good battery! Seems the trade has problems with this at times I read somewhere. I did fill the filter with fuel. I also read to clamp the flow and return, which I didn't do. It finally started after 10 minutes of cranking, injecting diesel into the filter vent after every 15 secs of cranking. Have you replaced the filter without this drama ?
