A6 intermitent Misfire

Hi, i am new here, but i have a problem with my A6, 2.8 Quattro.

there is an intermitent misfire that gets worse under load and is most prominent at 2500 rpm.. i have changed the spark plugs,leads and coil unit and still it continues..

any one got any ideas??

I had this problem on my A6, now I'm need a new engine! It would miss, clear, miss, clear, run fine for days, then start again. In the end I lost #1 piston and one of the exhaust valves. Now I need to find close on to £1000 for a second hand unit.
GET IT SORTED.
