Over last 2 years of ownership and googling have come across the following :-

1. VAG-COM
2. Anti-Hijack door lock

Anyone able to expalin these to me, are they worth doing and how much is the VAG COM stuff to buy ?

Cheers

Hope Im not becoming a pain in here !!!!!

Vag.com is software that allows you to access the vehicle diagnostics (rather than going to the main dealer) to check error codes and also allows you reprogram the code. i'm not an expert but if you go onto the vag.com forum here you'll get an idea of what it can do.
As to cost I just downloaded the software for free and ordered the cable and license from Ross Tech in the US to run it on my laptop. The cost was approx €220 after currency rates.
i think the anti-hijack door locks is a feature that you can program with Vag.com to automatically lock the doors once the car is doing more than 10mph.
While you at it get a copy of Elsawin of Ebay. This is a "version" of the official manuals the dealers have for the cars.
