A6 Avant 2.5TDI quattro self levelling headlamps failure

No joy on tech forum so i thought i would try here as well.

After intermittently showing the warning light, my Xenon headlamps are no longer auto levelling, and the warning light is on all the time. Please can anyone advise if this is likely to be a major failure requiring complete replacement, or a repairable electrical fault.

Check on the near side front suspension arm (easiest with the wheel off) and you should see a short plastic linkage going to a box (about the size of a match box) if that is OK then it could be an electrical problem.

Was surprised when I found out on my last car that this bit of plastic was all that provided the contact for the headlamp self leveling

can you get access to VAG COM? that will tell you if there is a problem.
