Audi A6 C5 and CAN Bus

Hello,
First please excuse me for my bad English. I'm from Bulgaria.
I have problems with my car. My mechanic told me, that he can't connect to my car with VAG-COM and he will repair my car computer.
The my mechanic told me, that the problem is with the CAN Bus. I'm not sure whether my car has this CAN Bus. Can you help me with any information. The car is Audi A6 C5 2.5TDI 1997 year. I'm not sure about the year, because car serial number shows that the car is 1998 year.

Your car is to early to have Can BUS my 2000 is ODB. However what is your problem actually as i know from experience you cannot access the On board diagnostics if the ABS unit is faulty. (a common fault and expesnive) if the ABS module is disconnected then the computer can talk to the car.

Is your problem ABS Braking related.
