Ordering an R8

People,
I know we don`t have an R8 section yet but a debate has erupted at work and the question now is what does a guy have to do to order one of these.
I was on the audi site and it just looks lovely.
There are 2 schools of thought at the moment
Soem think i should call up audi dockland and put my name down..
other felt i will be able to source it significantly cheaper if i get it straight from germany.
Was also wonder ing what they will probably price it at?
anybody have similar thoughts to me and want one or is it just me drooling let me know...

No idea sorry, not sure if they've even started building them for the public yet.

I'd say it's worth giving a few dealers a call and see how many orders they've got / wait times... wish I had the money the cars at the paris motorshow looked lovely.

isn't it worth waiting to have a test drive? At that price range i'd be torn between an R8 or a 2nd hand 911 Turbo. The porsche may win in terms of handling though.

Good point i wonder what it would come to fully spec`d.
Thought about the porsche but it just doesnt do it for me.
Hopfully the residuals wont be too bad
