rs6 body conversion

i'm thinking about selling my a6 (just standard 1.8t se colour coded with 19" alloys) and doing an rs6 body conversion on my next a6..... I want a different engine pref quattro.
i was going to get a 1998-2000 model but realise the rs6 only come out on the later 2001 version.

will the body parts fit ok? I know I can't get a grill as they are slightly different but will i have problems with front bumper assuming the wings and side skirts will be straight fit.

any advise?

Did the RS6 not have slightly flaird arches? Don't know if that would affect anything.

you need a v8 , the front end is longer as in the rs6, an a6 4.2 Q tiptronic would be a cost effective start , could always lpg it for daily use and all
 
thanks dummi, so it wouldn't work on just a box standard 1998 quattro?

i guess with the front end being longer the rs6 wings wouldn't fit? i thought the only issue would be the years........ sod it!

getting a 4.2q tipronic is not really the way i wanted to go as I couldn't afford it on top of all the rs6 bumpers etc , I'd probably leave it unless any other options available to me to make it work?
 
no anything smaller than a v8 and the front end is significantly smaller. i'm not even sure if the track width of the 4.2 and rs6 are the same. the easiest way would be an S6 that is already wide and would take little to complete it, but thats still 15-20k no cheap options using oem parts anyway
 
well dietrich do the rs6 bumpers to fit the narrower models, i got a dietrich rs6 front bumper on mine.
As for the arches well u can get the rear pannels for just over £100 each from audi, and the wings are about £80 if i remeber right, but as they were metal i was quoted £500 per arch to get em fitted n welded n smoothed in! that was so i cud get 9.5" wide 20's under it!
Turned out a bit on the costly side so i settled for 8.5" wide 20's.

ABT sell Audi Approved parts.
Wheels, bodykits, exhaust and they were going to approve the ECU upgrades.

They are the offical tuning company for Audi

Hmmm thought that was Quattro Gmbh :uhm:

I know ABT is the biggest tuner for VAG but I think the relationship between the two is similar to the one between AC Schnitzer and BMW :think:

Audi have no offical partnerships with any of the tuning companies, they have their own tuning company Quattro GmbH and own Cosworth Engineering.

Several of the tuning companies have Audi Approved Servicing status, which means that they can service your car and maintain the Audi warranty etc - but this is not approval from Audi for the other product which they might supply.

Audi UK (which is a seperate company to Audi GmbH) did choose several years ago to sell some ABT parts through their dealer network, but the part numbers they gave them, where Audi UK numbers and not Audi GmbH.

At the end of the day they are lots of high quality tuning and parts companies specialising in Audi products. Some local Audi companies e.g. Audi UK or individual dealers choose to supply parts from these companies and undertake themselves to support the product / cars - but if there was a warranty claim that went back Audi GmbH the claim would not be honoured.
