Rear shock removal on A6? any ideas?

Anyone know if you have to get access to the rear shock top mount from inside the car to remove it or can it be done from outside?

I ash because i've just gone and fitted the boot build and it takes up the whole boot and it was a bugger to fit and i didn't think about suspesion! doh
My rear shocks are really spongy but not leaking 2-3 bounces. So i'm thinking of new shocks.

Well for those of u interested i've changed the rear shocks myself, quite, well very easy!
about an hour each side, 2 13mm bolts on underside of wheel arch and 16mm bolt on arm, thats it!

no access to boot needed, i replaced em with sum awesum gas struts! better be at 50 each, now they r changed i didn't realise how bad my old ones were, they were fooked.

No gas in em at all! bounced all over the road!
