A6 1.8t gurgling?

Hi my 2000 1.8t apu has aquired a strange gurgling noise.

It is coming from a pipe that ends under the car on the drivers side, probably under the drivers seat area.

This pipe doesn't seem to go to anything and when I place my finger over the end my finger gets sucked onto the pipe and the gurgling disappears.

Any body know what this pipe is and why it's gurgling and also why the suction is so great?

I have taken some pictures of this pipe. It looks as though it comes from behind the wheel well liner and it runs about two feet towards the back of the car to nothing?
