Tiptronic torque converter?

I've read that the 2.7T allroad had a redesigned torque converter from the factory from 2004 onwards. I also understand that the box prior to this was the same as the one in the 2.5 TDI.

Logic would suggest that therefore the 2.5 TDI from 2004 has a newer torque converter also, but can anyone confirm this?

Try looking on vagcat and comparing the parts numbers.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it's inconclusive. I guess a slightly upgraded seal in the TC didn't qualify for a part number revision.
