1999 A6 ABS Failure

Have other drivers had the ABS controller fail and is thier a cheap fix. I.E Lots of beeping and flashing lights and ASRI have been quoted £1200 from audi. I know there is a ECU repair kit for £400 but the dealers dont normally sell this as an option.

I have found a guy in the uk who repairs for £250 quid and a company in florida who do the same for $250 turn around 24 hours.
