Hi,

Ive only had the car 2 months but now when I accelerate hard (or under load up hill etc) the card loses all power and the revs just sit at 1500 rpm. The throttle pedal does nothing. Strange thing is thought the traction control light stays on ! This started about 3 weeks ago but then the car would just loose power for a sec then carry on, like a shudder.

Any ideas?????

Thanks

Tom

This power loss happens when the engine goes into "limp mode". Upon detecting that some parameters are out of range, the electronic reduces the power to protect the engine. Power usually comes back when switching off and back on the engine.

In such cases, it's best to run a vag-com on the car, to see what fault caused the "limp mode". It's pretty common to get faults like "Intake manifold pressure - control difference".

Now, because you tell me that the ESP light is on, this indicates most probably a faulty MAF. Try unplugging the MAF to see if car performs better. Most probably it will.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. It was a faulty accelerator pedal in the end, swapped and it works fine

Thanks

Tom
