2.8 manual problems

Any known or common problems in a 2.8 with manual gearbox?

Is the same box used in any other models?

Whats the 2.8 like itself? Reliable or best to avoid?

Lasy big V6 used in A4, A8 & Passat
All the manual boxes were pretty similar in design and avoid the auto box electronics issue.
Problems relate to mileage and service history.
Lots of buyers guides on the net.
Any issues with the clutch or noisy release bearings suggest walk unless its dead cheap.
If you can get underneath make sure there is no oil around the clutch housing as that's the drive shaft seal/bearing going bye bye.

are they dual mass flywheels?

Need to check specific model but I believe they were all dual mass.
There's single (solid) mass unit conversions out there but not cheap and some need a different slave unit.
