A6 1.8T Quattrro SE, bhp?

I've an S3 so i dont know much about A6,
My friend is buying an A6 1.8T Quattrro SE Registered 15.09.2000 is this likely to be 184 bhp model?

I think they are all 150bhp standard.

It'll be a 150Bhp. I've got a 2000 model and its only 150.

One suggestion would be to get it chipped as it's not the quickest of motors..

I always though 1.8T Quattro models were given 180BHP, no?

No, all 150hp. I would tell him to remap it.

With the extra weight and the 4wd you need the extra BHP, remap would be a good option.

Always thought they did 180 with Quattro as that is what Audi did with the A3 (i.e. no 150Q only TQ180).

What is the engine code? (it's stamped on a small tag on the edge of the head)

From 1999.5 1.8T Quattros were 180BHP on the A4's (engine code AJL), not sure if Audi updated the entire range although I don't see why not. The older 150BHP cars had engine code AEB.
