'01 1.8T Quattro advice

Folks, I'm on the look out for an '01 ish 1.8T Quattro Avant for a weekend work horse.

Aside from the standard timing belt and servicing, what do I need to look out for with regards to the haldex system? Are there any physical noises or signs that would give away a bad one?

Any other things to note regarding this variant?

Not specific to the variant you are looking at but make sure the drain holes under the battery are clear otherwise you can end up with water in the passenger footwell
