diagnostic tool north east?

Does anyone or is there anyone with a diagnostic tool in or around teesside who is willing to hook it up to my a6 so I can potentially nail my power loss problem. hope that someone out there can help. I am considering buying a diagnostic reader but also font know what's the best or are all ok, Deen a few on eBay for around £30.
