Right, i dont really klnow where to start as i have a few big things bugging me with the car and a few smaller issues. id like peoples views on:

a) PRNDS flash - i know its a ECU replacement/fix but what is everyones opinion on this? Repair the existing one or replace with a brand new one (my local garage told me there is a large difference in cost) is there any reliability issues with a fixed one or not?

b) Occassional water drip from the lighting unit in the front? Usually after a bit of rain, and i dont have a sunroof so its not the gutters there? I pulled the unti out an it all looked ok no water damage? Could it be something to do with the washer pipes (i had a similar issue with my old escort)

c) Airbag light comes on if i have someone sitting in the middle seat in the back, this is intermittent, is it a sensor thing?
The water drip and the gearbox things are my biggest concerns. Ive got no dosh after just spending £700 getting the alternator pulley replaced after seizing up (long story).

1) I would source a 2nd hand one before replacing
2) do you have a leak at the top windscreen seal
3) AFAIK there are no airbag sensors or connectors in the rear seats, if there are then you may find they have a high resistance reading and just need cleaning (common problem with B5 drivers seat connector)

I'm bumping this back up as i have now resolved issue (a) Thanks to ECU Repairs and £900, but still have an issue with (b) and its doing my head in, no sign of a leak in the seals around the screen and no dripping anywhere else, could it be from the aerial gasket? Ive also noticed that the gutter cover (?) is loose just above the tailgate?

Lost and getting more and more wound up by this car!!!!

take the gutter cover off and check for a hole under it. I don't think it would be the aerial as water douse not pool round it, but sounds like the gutter if a clip has broken water could get in were the clip should be as it will pool in the gutter.

Any idea how to remove as i am concerned about using my usual technique (brute force)

well on mine it just lifts up but be gentle just in case lol.

As to the air bag light....

There is a sensor under the back seats on some models...

As to the water I had a lap full from a cracked windscreen that only dropped out after the new screen was fitted (duh!)

If its the washer system it will smell of whatever you put in the washer bottle...

The rear aerial seal has a short life but will fill up the rear load area light. Could check there first.
