Hi, my apologies on starting with a real negative, but my 2001 A6 avant 1.9tdi se, owned since new, has rust. Roof gutters, nearside wheel arch and bottom of driver's door. Those nice guys at Audi have offered 70% contribution towards the roof gutters after the local dealership, audi southwest, took photos, but only of the roof, explaining that the other affected parts would not be covered by the 12 year anti corrosion warranty. There has been no damage/ repainting to the affected parts.
I guess there is a strong possibility that the roof rust at least is covered by the warranty which says; " against bodywork through rust corrosion from the inside out...". Audi are not going to accept full responsibility under the warranty, otherwise I'm guessing there would presumably be a queue of similar claims? And that is what I want to know. Who else has a similar problem. Audi is a premium brand and rust is just not acceptable.
