picking the gps singal, according to the sat nav I'm sitting in the middle of nowhere and if you zoom out it will show the map of britain, has anybody else had this problem?

Common problem on A6 Avants for the roof GPS antenna to fail. My own Rs6 antenna failed at 12 months old. You can replace the base GPS section on the roof, drop the rear section of roof liner, unplug and unbolt it. Fit the new one. Costs around £140 for the base.

Or you can buy a £20 GPS puck with a blue Fakra for Audi RNS-E and fit that behind the cluster and feed it to behind the radio, unplug the faulty blue fakra and plug in your new one. You will need to remove the cluster and the radio, so you will need the radio removal tools and some other tools for the cluster and kick plate removal.
