Audi A6 "C5" avant 2,5tdi tip quattro xenon lights leveling

Hi guys.

My brother in law has an A6 "c5" avant from the year 2000.
He failed the MOT yesterday.
They told him that the right driver light beam was to high compaierd with the left side.
The car is equipped with xenon lights.

The mechanics from the MOT said that it was only possible to adjust via diagnostics (vagcom)
Can you guys confirm this?

I have the VagCom w/CAN so I am able to help him but need som advice.

yes this is true, you need to put the headlights into a setting mode so you can adjust the headlight aim screws and then the controller can learn the new position (due to the auto leveling required by HID lights by law)
