    Le Mans Edition

    Hi All,
Does anyone here own or have good pics of the Le Mans Edition?
I'm particularly interested in seeing good shots of all the details that are unique to the model.
    Wheels, badging etc etc.
Apparently Tom Kristensen was given one of these to drive back from Le Mans this year. Nice.
    Thanks!

Really very sweet looking ride, thanks for the pics.
    Those wheels are just great!
What else is unique to the Le Mans edition?
Where are the LE MANS badges etc?

No LE MANS badges installed on mine. :-( I believe that they were optional. When fitted I think they were installed below the side repeaters as per the A4 B8 S-line badges.

LE-MANS pack included, Milano leather, heated seats, Acoustic rear parking sensors, interior lighting pack and "LE-MANS" badges (if fitted), 19" alloys and pearlescant paint.

...and it lives on today as the S-Line Special Edition. This must be one of the bargains of the decade as it costs just 250 on top of the cost of the standard S-Line

    Here's my Le Mans edition:

I've also got the black styling pack (hence no chrome on the windows, rear bumper, or around the front grille). As far as I know, the only way to tell them apart is the 19" wheels (which were Le Mans only on the pre-facelift cars) and the badges under the side repeaters.

Also snap from the brochure for the A6 giving the spec of the Le Mans:

It's difficult to read in the resized version but it says:

    Audi A6 ‘Le Mans’ Edition
Audi is no stranger to victory at Le Mans. Since 2000, we’ve
won the world-famous 24-hour race six times out of seven, five
times in the legendary Audi R8 – which, since 2001, has had
an FSI direct-injection petrol model famed for its remarkable
power and fuel-efficiency. In 2006, however, Audi set itself a
challenge – to be the first manufacturer ever to win Le Mans
with a diesel car. What followed on 18 June 2006 was a new
chapter in motorsports history, as the Audi R10 TDI sped past
the finishing line at the ‘Grand Prix of Endurance’ in first place.
In recognition of this momentous achievement, we’re producing
two very special, Limited Edition ‘Le Mans’ A6 models – a
powerful 3-litre diesel and a 2.7 litre diesel, featuring the
remarkably fuel-efficient TDI technology which propelled Audi
and the R10 to an historic victory in this year’s race. Unlike the
R10, however, this model comes complete with the following
    sporty, luxurious features.
    and..

The ‘Le Mans’ Edition is based on the S line trim and includes the following items
of specification in addition to the 2.7 TDI S line and 3.0 TDI quattro S line model:
    • Luxury pack, incorporating:
    – Milano leather upholstery
    – Heated front seats
    – Rear acoustic-parking system
    – Interior lighting package
    – Unique Le Mans badges located on the side wings beneath indicator lenses
    • 8.5J x 19 7-arm double-spoke alloy wheels with 255/35 R19 tyres
    • Metallic/pearl effect paint including unique S line colours
    Cheers, Chris

    Hi,

Pics of my (facelift model) Le Mans are below:

The badging changed slightly for facelift cars too - the Le Mans badge now sits below the A6 badge on the bootlid, and the front wings sport S line badges:

    Cheers!

That's interesting. The facelift has S-Line badges on the wings and Le Mans on the back, whereas my shape has the Le Mans badges on the wings.

EDIT: Just spotted, the front bumper is different too.

Out of interest, how many of these Le Mans cars have actually been there for the race??

There are quite a few panel and detail changes for the facelift:
Front bumper is different (as you noticed)
    Rear bumper is different
Tail lights are a different shape, and all-LED
Bootlid is different (now incorporates a lip on S Line and Le Mans)
Door blades are different (incorporating a chrome strip at the top)
Door mirrors are larger and incorporate LED indicator repeaters
Front wings have no indicator repeaters
Headlights include LED Daytime Running Lights

Inside, there are several changes too:
    Dashboard clocks are different
Dashboard buttons are slightly smaller and more raised
    HVAC unit is different
    Parking brake button is different
Door lock button is different (reversed)
Split folding rear seats are standard
    Milano Leather is standard
    Auto dimming mirror is standard

My previous car was a 2005 S Line, and I spent the first few weeks with the new car gradually spotting more and more minor changes! :-)

    Cheers!

    MF.
