What engine can I put in?

Hi everyone, I have just aquired a prestine 2000 1.8T A6 with the APU engine fitted. It seems as though it has dropped a valve into the cylinder and smashed it against the plug, probably putting a hole in the piston but cannot be sure until i remove the head. From what I have read it should be a DBW, 150bhp, 9.5.1 CR and small ports not sure what all the specs are of this engine i.e cast/forged crank, vvt/non vvt. My question is are all the engine codes basically the same bare block? Which codes could I use to make the car whole again without any mods (swap out swap in)
Could I put in a AUM or AWT without any problems for the ECU.

    Thanks

so long as you keep to the same engine format (058 block, with or without VVT) you will be fine.

I have a mint recon small port head for sale in a week or so.
3 angle valve seat cut. 30 thou skim, new supertech valve guides, have all the valvetrain also if you decide it is just a top end rebuild.
