2005 A6 2.0TDi, fuel guage suddenly not working (1/2 tank full), low fuel warning now constantly on. Is this a common problem, any quick fixes without visiting dealer?

Fuel tank sender unit....!

Can't tell you how much to fix as mine was still under warranty. Do a quick search on here and you will see my post at the time.
