audi a5 fuel gauge problem

hi just filled my a5 3.0tdi with fuel normally the gauge is fine but its now only showing 3/4 full any advice ???

Maybe your used to putting £70 in and with the prices the way they are, it just doesn't doesn't fill the car like it used to??

Posted something similar on the a5oc forum and got the same smart arse reply!

I believe its a fault in the fuel tank sensor unit...part alone from audi is £260...dont know whether there is a more simple/cheaper option!?!?!
